“Nothing can dim the light which shines from within.” –Maya Angelou

It is that light that shines so brightly from within each of you, that brings peace, comfort and hope to your families, clients, and others in the community. Each of you is an example to me and all the members of our team, what it means to be strong, courageous, and caring. You let nothing stop you from caring for others, not a pandemic, snow, personal loss, or hate directed at you. I have learned so much from all of you and truly respect, admire, and care about each of you. As International Women’s Day and Women’s History month ends, it is such a privilege to work with such incredible women and men.
It is very painful to be witness to the discrimination, hostility, and fear so many of you are experiencing. It saddens me that it often takes events such as those most recently in the Asian community, to again raise awareness of a burden many if not most of you carry. I am aware that many of you are doing this in silence.
Please know that I remain committed, to supporting you in every way possible. I will continue to put my words into action. As the media attention lessens, I will play my part in keeping these conversations alive and moving forward.
Over the next few weeks, you will be receiving communication, information and resources about personal safety and other things we are hoping may be of some help. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to your Supervisor if you need anything. We are all here to support you.

Respectfully,
Carolyn McCarthy, President
